SOPHIENTERRASSEN
A New Chapter for Harvestehude
The Sophienterrassen in Hamburg-Harvestehude, located between Mittelweg and Harvestehuder Weg, embody a unique blend of history, contemporary design, and an irreplaceable location. In the past, wealthy Hamburg merchant families shared the privilege of living in this neighborhood. Their magnificent villas, as well as the upper-class Gründerzeit houses in this area, represent for FRANKONIA Eurobau a standard and inspiration for a lifestyle that has now returned here in a modern form.
A statement, without a single word
Luxury, with a contemporary twist
The listed and modernized Sophienpalais, the Alstervillen and Parkvillen, the townhouses, and, last but not least, the SOPHIE are prime examples of the successful integration of luxurious living comfort and architectural elegance into a historic setting. The surrounding park and the view of the Alster quickly make you forget that you’re in the middle of a major city.

Hanseatic Values in Action
Typical Hanseatic values, such as individuality and openness to the world, set the tone at the Sophienterrassen. They coexist in a blend of individual architectural styles. Or in the openness of the grounds, which—despite their discreet security concept—do not feel closed off but rather invite you to take a stroll. These elements come together in the work of Hamburg-based fashion designer and multi-talented artist Karl Lagerfeld, who designed areas and residential units at the Sophien Terraces and has created yet another lasting legacy with his designs.

The Finalization of the Concept
Prof. Mirjana Markovic served as the master planner responsible for the overall design of the Sophienterrassen complex. In addition to a group of townhouses and a park villa that she designed, she added two more prominent buildings to Hamburg’s architectural landscape with the villas on Harvestehuder Weg. Visible from the banks of the Alster, they bear witness to the Hanseatic city’s and its residents’ sense of tradition, identity, and style. The SOPHIE, located in the heart of the neighborhood, was her final work.
